Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway added to “eight vertical and eight horizontal” network

6月20日7时53分，随着一声鸣笛声，由中铁二院勘察设计的郑渝高铁襄万段首趟G6791次列车从襄阳东站驶出，标志着郑渝高铁全线正式开通运营。

At 7:53 on June 20, the first G6791 train along Xiangyang-Wanzhou Section of Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway, surveyed and designed by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group, departed from Xiangyang East Railway Station with a whistle, marking the official opening of the railway.

郑渝高铁是中国“八纵八横”高铁网的重要组成部分。开通后，北京、郑州至重庆最快6小时46分、4小时23分可达，形成了中国西南地区外出的又一快速客运通道。

Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway is an important part of China’s “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high-speed railway network. Its operations enable passengers to travel from Beijing and Zhengzhou to Chongqing in 6 hours and 46 minutes and 4 hours and 23 minutes at the fastest respectively. The railway becomes another outbound fast passenger transport corridor from southwestern China.

高铁的全线贯通，进一步完善了华中、西南地区铁路网结构，极大便利了沿线人民群众出行，释放襄渝普速铁路货运能力，更好地推动地区物流发展，对加快中原城市群、成渝地区双城经济圈的发展，具有十分重要的意义。

The opening of Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway has further improved the railway network structure in central and southwestern China, greatly facilitated the travel of people along the line, released the freight capacity of Xiangyang-Chongqing general-speed railway, and better promoted the development of regional logistics. It is of great significance to accelerate the development of the city cluster in central China and Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

高铁的开通，更带动了铁路沿线各地旅游业的发展。铁路串联起嵩山少林寺、襄阳古隆中、昭君故里、神农架原始森林、奉节白帝城、巫山大小三峡等众多著名旅游景点。中国铁路武汉局集团有限公司(简称“武铁”)以郑渝高铁开通为契机，与湖北省文旅厅和沿线南漳、保康、兴山、神农架、巴东等地文旅部门共同开展“畅享高铁 乐游湖北”文旅宣传推介活动，出台“高铁+旅游景点”优惠政策，湖北省200多家旅行社纷纷推出“乘郑渝高铁，游大美鄂西”优惠旅行套餐，吸引游客到湖北旅游。

In addition, the opening of the high-speed railway has also spurred the growth of tourism along the line. The railway connects many famous tourist attractions such as Shaolin Temple in Songshan Mountain, Ancient Longzhong in Xiangyang, Zhaojun’s Hometown, Shennongjia Primitive Forest, White Emperor City in Fengjie, Three Gorges and Lesser Three Gorges in Wushan. Seizing the opening of Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway as an opportunity, China Railway Wuhan Bureau Group , together with Hubei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the culture and tourism departments of Nanzhang, Baokang, Xingshan, Shennongjia, Badong and other places along the line, has carried out the culture and tourism promotion campaign of “Travel in Hubei through High-speed Railway” and introduced the preferential policy of “High-speed Railway + Tourist Attractions”. In order to attract tourists to Hubei, more than 200 travel agencies in Hubei Province have launched the preferential travel package of “Enjoy the Beauty of Western Hubei by Train along Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway”.

在神农溪景区乘坐高铁来此漂流的游客络绎不绝。景区负责人梅俊华高兴地说：“郑渝高铁开通后，前来游玩的游客比以前多了，较高铁开通前增加三成左右。”

Shennong River Scenic Area is seethed with tourists for drifting who go there by high-speed train. “After the opening of Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway, there are more tourists than before, with an increase of about 30%,” Mei Junhua, head of the scenic area, said happily.

“人民有所盼，铁路有作为”。高铁飞驰在祖国广袤的大地上，一条新线的开通运营，快速拉近的不仅是时空的距离，更为高质量建设城市带来了历史性机遇，为沿线地区高质量发展注入了无限活力和澎湃动能。

The railway network helps the people realize their expectations. High-speed trains are galloping on the vast land in China. The operations of a new line not only quickly shorten the distance in time and space, but also bring historic opportunities for high-quality development in cities along the line, injecting infinite vitality and surging momentum.
