一、教学目标:
1、To learn some new words and expressions:
like,long hair,curly hair,short hair ,straight hair, tall,short, medium height ,heavy,medium build, thin
2、To learn how to use the sentences.
What does he look like? He is /has……
Is that ……? Yes,it is./No,it isn’t.
3. To be able to make a new conversation with expressions.

1、vocabulary: short, curly, long, tall, straight hair, medium build,
height, thin, heavy, hair…
2、What does he/she look like?
He/She is tall/short/medium build
He/She has curly hair.
三、教学设计理念
1、本单元的教学活动始终遵循任务型教学的教学理念,以学生为学习的主
体,以任务为中心,在运用语言完成任务的过程中来学习,体会和掌握语
言。
2、自始自终贯穿了以交际为目的的原则(在做中学,在学中用)。
3、在教学过程中,关注学生的生活实际和生活体验,让其贴近实际、贴近生活,树立以学生为本的思想,提倡学生参与、体验、亲身实践、独立思考、合作探究,从而实现教学方式和学习方式的转变。

五、教学步骤:
Step 1 Warming up (课前热身 ---- 激趣)
T: Hello, boys and girls!
Then have a free talk.
Step 2 Presentation
T: In this class, we’ll learn unit 3 What does he look like?
(引导学生回答) Do you know the Chinese meaning of this sentence?
(出示课件 ——教学目标)
Step 3.Learn new words.
(根据预习检查单词的掌握程度)Read and understand the Chinese meaning of the words,then write on exercise books.
Step 4.New lesson
Learn new sentence:What does he look like? And know how to answer.
教师可根据屏幕显示的图片或者身体语言引导学生猜测回忆height 的意思,引导学生主动回答问题。然后找出三个不同身高的人来练习。
T: Tall – tall - He’s tall. Medium height – height –He is medium height.
Short – short – She is short. Pay attention to my words. (Repeat He’s
tall. He is medium height. She is short.)
(领读单词,让学生观察老师刚才读的几个描述身高的句子,鼓励学生注意身高的句子结构)
依次类推学习build 及hair 的用法,可让更多的学生参与到学习中来。T: Let’s describe the hair. (手指头发,生忆词义) Whose hair is long/short…? Who has curly/straight hair? What color hair do they have? 指图A , She has long
straight black hair.
Step 5 Pairwork
T: Practice like this: (in pairs) What do you look like? I’m…
(in groups) What does he/she look like? He/She’s…
※(出示明星图片,引导学生如何从体形及发型上来描述人物的外貌,练习亦是循序渐进,导学、导练)
(Practice in groups to describe the person. For example, What does he/she
look like? He/She is …….He/She has …… hair.)
Step 4 Listening (1b)
Look at 1a,match the words and the pictures.Write down the letter on the line.
T: Look at 1b.Here’s a conversation between Amy and her friend. Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks.Who is Amy’s friend?
( 点击课件,纠正答案,也可以描述一下图中的人物,做一下铺垫)
Step 5 Pairwork (1c)
1、Sum up:How to use “is ” and “has”?(出示幻灯片)
T: Everyone has his own ideal friend. Try to describe him or her.
A: What does your friend look like?
B: He/She has a medium build…
He/She is tall…
2、T:Show some photos of famous people like Jackie Chen. Describe them
in pairs. Then ask some of you to describe.
( 拿出准备好的明星图片,同桌俩人进行练习,然后挑人起来描述。)
Step 6 Listening (2a –2b)
T: There’re 3 conversations. The people are talking about friends. Some of
these words go with “is” and some go with “has”. Listen to the tape
carefully and find out the right answer.
(1) 一听听力,圈词is/has, 采取每段按暂停键的方式,尽力第一次让每一个学生都能听清楚,选出正确答案。
小结;(记笔记)
be (is, am, are)+形容词: have/has+名词词组
Be+tall/short / medium height Have/has+short /long hair
Be+ heavy / thin /medium build +straight/curly hair
+big / small eyes
(2) 二听听力,填写表格,并根据表格口述对话内容。
(出示幻灯片,并可根据情况展示听力材料)
Pay attention to : Is that ……? Yes ,it is ./No ,it isn’t.
Step 7 Describe Lily’s new friend (Pairwork 3)
(1) 先引导学生观察屏幕所显示的图片:一个长头发、大眼睛、个头不高,穿红裙子,白球鞋的小女孩。(开始可先用汉语叙述)这样可以降低做题难度,提高自信心。
(2)强调wear 用法。
(3)T: Take out your exercise books and write something about the
picture ---- describe the girl in English.
(提示学生可从身高、体形、发型及所着服饰来描述该女孩。)
(4)GAME 以小组为单位进行描述班中的一个同学,之后大声朗读,让其他学生猜Who’s he /she?
教师可先做示范,让学生猜,锻炼其听力。
Step 8 PRACTICE
1.Summary and do some exercises.(出示幻灯片,同学抢答)
2.ENGLISH TODAY:
Don’t judge the others by their appearance .
不要以貌取人
Step 9 Homework
(1) Describe your parents or teachers and then draw a picture of them.
(2)Show a photo of my dear daughter.Describe her in English.Then describe your family member like your father or your mother.
