This essay introduced the different features of children’s literature, for instance the brief history and the golden age during the development process. By classifying the different kinds of children’s literature and the category of it can we form some innovational ideas and cognitions for the early period of European and American children’s literature. This essay also found some specific case to research concluding the Adventure of Tom Sawyer, Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland and Grimm’s Fairy Talesthese splendid masterpieces can perfectly match the gist of this essay as they can represented the milestone of their own country’s children’s literature. Through researching the gist, writing background, influence, and the authors’ writing process, the different style and feature among the children’s literature in different area in Europe and Americanbecame clearer than ever before. These works formed a soiled foundation of the later work which figure out the influence of the children’s literature. The main purpose of this paper is to discover a new view of European and American literature as the former works for children’s literature is not too many no matter for domestic or worldwide.
