睡眠不足还会影响视觉、听觉、触觉、味觉、嗅觉等感知觉。感知觉敏感程度的减弱可能会使人们寻求更强烈的刺激来保持清醒。可能正是因为感知觉的麻痹,使人们更加漠视他人,反而更以自我为中心。

抚平伤痛和压力的,可能并不是时间,而是你花在睡眠和做梦上的时间。研究表明,睡眠可以疗愈修复情绪。同样一件棘手的事情,睡一觉起来,感觉到的压力可能就没有那么大了。
