头戴式耳机煲机主要是让耳机的机械系统的一个迅速老化过程，动圈耳机的发声系统是由音圈驱动振膜，而振膜是固定在耳机的架子上。从理论上讲，振膜运动应当是一种活塞（垂直）运动，这需要振膜的边缘有较大的顺性，煲就是煲这里，新耳机的振膜边缘是比较紧的，弹性大而顺性小，煲耳机就是让它的边缘活动开，声音就不那么发紧了。就像新买的车也有磨合期，规范过了磨合期之后的车开得也比较溜！

耳机的“煲”实际就是在煲振膜折环，新耳机振膜折环机械顺性差，导致失真比较大，经过一段时间使用后，顺性逐渐变好，失真也会逐渐降到正常的水平。

对于耳放，只要不关机就是煲机了，但对于耳机，还必须馈以一定功率的信号使其振膜不停振动。专业骨灰级的发烧友是用专门的频率发生器来生成某一段固定或扫描的频率然后输入到耳机，这种方法效果比较明显，所使用的时间也能缩短很多。

在煲的过程中要留意两点：一是不能连续工作太久，由于音圈存在着电阻，工作久了会发热，甚至会将音圈烧毁。最好是隔两个小时停几分钟然后再继续。二是音量不能太大，耳塞振膜是很脆弱的材料，音量大的话，音圈运动的行程也就大，从而剧烈拉动振膜，会造成音圈松脱，振膜变形甚至撕裂等等。导致耳机的声音发生异常。

狂煲对耳机一点好没有，煲不好的话音圈都可能会变形。

因此温火慢炖才有滋味，一般情况下，只要使用就是在煲机；但有点就是，要使耳机达到最好最佳状态，必须有一个科学的煲，那就是：一般用测试碟连续用30-40%的音量连续播放12-24小时（fm音乐台也可以）休息一天然后有选择的连续播放不同风格的CD ，5-10小时（包括人声，交响，电子乐，流行），接下来选择你最喜欢的CD用较大的音量（你能接受的最大音压）试1-2小时，最后恢复中等音量播放柔和的音乐（比如班得瑞或钢琴曲）5小时，基本上煲机过程完成！之后耳机的声音应该是相对最正常的！

一般新买回来第一周都是煲机的时间，一个月下来相对耳机的声音已经95%都发挥了，用了6个月（平均每天2小时）的耳机是煲的最佳的状态。
