Pledgecamp is crowdfunding on blockchain–we call it crowdfunding 2.0; It is a crowdfunding platform that unites the decentralized systems of crowdsourcing and blockchain. Backers are protected by the industry’s first escrow smart contract system and are rewarded for participation by cryptographic tokens. Decentralized user governance, gig economy and access allows the network to grow exponentially and bring crowdfunding to entrepreneurs. Our goal is to level the playground between companies and the community as well as give everyone in this world a chance to call themselves an entrepreneur.

Pledgecamp’s long term goal is to bring social impact here as well as bringing transparency and accountability to where it belongs. There are big addressable financial sector that leaves investor at loss along with diminishing their trust within the community.

This is reason why we would like to start with product crowdfunding vertical initially and expand into equity, p2p lending and charity as well - which all the verticals should embrace DAICO to make sure accountability and transparency is brought to these industry.

We want to be known as platform with full transparency yet a place where anyone from anywhere can raise money. Bringing the technology that can provide solution to underlying problem that can have ripple effects into further problem solving is really our goal with expanding into different verticals.

Let me also give you in perspective how big of a problem crowdfunding industry is currently facing by going through major crowdfunding platform called Kickstarter:On Kickstarter alone, a Wharton University professor found that 85% of projects delay and up to 14% fail to deliver as promised. This equates to over $500MM in wasted contribution money since Kickstarter was founded.

This is an immense problem and one that we are intimately familiar with. Crowdfunding has given countless entrepreneurs new opportunities that would have been impossible, so solving these issues with transparency and accountability is important for countless future entrepreneurs.

Our competitive advantage over centralized competitors such as Kickstarter is the ability to scale larger in a more open and decentralized manner, and superior features and cost savings to attract new users.

In the crypto space, no major player has emerged among new projects such as Acorn Collective, Starbase, and a few other minor platforms. The team possesses stronger industry experience, advisors, and a stronger product than these crypto competitors.

Our main competition will be Kickstarter and Indiegogo, and our ultimate aim is to acquire these companies for their users and spread our superior product worldwide.

Kickstarter is only allowed in 22 countries (11% of the world) and those who have eligible bank accounts and credit cards (35% of adults in the world are unbanked).

Kickstarter and Indiegogo have not innovated since becoming popular in 2009 for funding art projects and music concerts. Kickstarter has resisted change and does not even have a full time employee in China although 50% of their revenue is from tech and design products mostly built in China.

If any centralized party wants to offer Backer Insurance, they will take on incredible cost and risk. They will need to be a custodian of large sums of money and protect it from theft and hackers. They will need to act as mediators in disputes, because if it is up to them who receives the money there will surely be lawsuits and customer complaints.

The only fair way to do backer insurance is to align incentives of all parties and allow the backers themselves to vote democratically. The smart contract will protect the funds and make the process fair and transparent. No other blockchain crowdfunding competitor has backer insurance or any of the other features we do; as a team, we are way more experienced with higher profile backers than any other crowdfunding project. They simply use crypto for crowdfunding, but we completely re-engineered the core model and brought lots of real innovation to it.

Pledgecamp

Pledgecamp

Pledgecamp supports two token model/system:

Our platform utilizes an ERC20 utility token called Pledge Coin (PLG) - which is just like any cryptocurrency in that it allows transparency and open access to more people. PLG token is required to enable the decentralized voting and control of Backer Insurance wallets, with the use of platform managed accounts and a platform reserve essential to mitigating the effects of currency valuation on usage and adoption. A user can also stake PLG to non-trading and effectively turn it into CS (Camp Share).

CS holders become special users called Moderators, and are entitled to receive the listing fees generated by the platform. Let’s say a user is a Moderator and owns 1% of all CS outstanding.

As a reminder, not all PLG will be CS, so the total pool of CS will be smaller than the total supply of PLG. As a moderator, this user gets an email that this campaign was flagged by users for selling illegal drugs. The moderator has the power to verify this campaign is in violation and votes to remove it along with other moderators. Because the moderator did his job, at the end of the month, he will receive listing fees. On Kickstarter, listing fees are easily $100,000 per day.

If Pledgecamp were generating similar fees, this Moderator would earn 1% of this for the month, or $30,000 USD in 30 days. At any time, the Moderator can unstake their CS back into PLG if they want to liquidate it, but it will take 30 days of vesting.

Since Binance DEX and Binance mainnet have been launched, lots of projects immigrated to Binance chain. Why PledgeCamp choose Binance DEX, and what changes will happen to PledgeCamp?

When we first engaged with Binance team in regards to Binance DEX, we were very thrilled to hear their goal on disrupting typical perception of DEX having low volume, poor UI and driven by poor management.

Binance DEX is created on a high powerful blockchain engine "Tendermint Core" with one-second block times, that provides the speed, which is also the same to centralized exchanges. Simply put this means Binance DEX can handle the same trading volume as Binance.com and any other centralized exchanges are handling currently.

Furthermore, Binance dex was purely community focused and driven where it offers advantages such as private keys under user’s control, decentralized order book as well as matching with one second block time. We foresee exchanges sooner or later moving into and abiding by true definition of “decentralization” and having it more community driven than centralized authority controlling and putting community/user’s fund as risk.

Binance team’s vision as well as their execution skills truly made it no brainer for us to migrate onto Binance Chain and choose Binance DEX as one of initial listing partners to move forward with.

Mr. Zengming, the co-founder of Alibaba used to say that the only problem that the blockchain technology can solve is crowdfunding. Do you agree with this? And now, there are lots of blockchain crowdfunding platforms, what’s the difference between Pledgecamp and other platforms?

Mr. Zengming is absolutely correct that crowdfunding and blockchain are perfect applications to combine together. They are both decentralized platforms that empower the people, and do away with centralized authorities that try to capture the power of the crowd for their own gain.

Currently, no crowdfunding exists with the key features of Backer Insurance and our innovative token economy.

In addition, we are building the platform from the ground-up as a team of former creators ourselves, for future creators —we are among the top 1% most-funded and successful project creators on Kickstarter and have helped other projects raise millions of dollars as well. Along with our team of advisors, we are experienced to know what the current platforms are missing to be more successful.

In addition (and most importantly), the platform is designed in collaboration with our team and MetaLab, a world-famous UX/UI design firm responsible for creating Coinbase, Slack, and many others.

last question,Some people say that 2019 is a bull market, now BTC is more than 10 thousand USD. What investment advice that you will give to our audience.

My opinion is that we are just barely entering a bull market and current period is mostly likely re-accumulation period. There has been BTC hashrate pick up during the bear market (2018).

I do foresee massive bullrun once BTC halving concludes or perhaps in midst of halving. It is historically proven in 2013 and 2016 there has been massive run with halving which also drove up alt coins. Personally 2019 Q3 will be massive re-accumulation period up until end of 2019 Q4 - if someone is looking to diversify, this might be good period to do so; But once again this is my opinion only and people should do their own research when it comes to investment decision.
